Should I keep blogging in English?

There are a few questions that have been spinning around in my head for a while now.

Does blogging in English improve the quality of my blog? Does it improve the quality of my English?

First SA Blogger fired

That has got to be a strange feeling indeed. Fired for blogging. For voicing an opinion.

Ex-sub editor at the Sowetan, Llewellyn Kriel has blogged about his experience as the first South African to get axed for blogging.

Reading through his article made me think about a few things. Does a judge in today's courts even know what a blog is? Do they have enough tech-savvy to be able to handle a case like this?

Can blogging be restricted?

I direct you to this blog entry of an Italian gentleman called Beppe, who informs us about a new law that they want passed in Italy.

Let me give you the short version of it:

1. They want people in Italy who want to run a blog to register on some government database.

2. People would have to pay a blogging tax.

3. You would need a registered journalist that would be your appointed "responsible director".

Now I don't know about you, but this sounds like restricting freedom of speech to me.  read more »
