Xbox Live - Finally coming to South Africa

This news is also late, but I don't consider it news if I haven't blogged about it!

Microsoft is rolling out Xbox Live to a few new countries like Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Czech Republic, Greece, Hungary, Poland, Russia and last but not least, South Africa!

So what does this mean for local Xbox 360 gamers?

Well, you don't have to commit fraud to have an Xbox Live account anymore. My Live account currently has an address in the UK, because you could not create an account without a valid address.  read more »

E3 and other juicy gaming news

Being busy is not fun.

Being alone at home is not fun.

Both of these premises were mine to enjoy (hate?) the past week.

But instead of my usual moan about how busy things are and about how little I'm blogging, let me jump straight into it.

Yes, E3, the Electronic Entertainment Expo took place last week in all it's gaming glory.

Yes, I know it was last week... like I said, I've been busy.  read more »

Xbox 360 Slim rumours?

And last but not least, my brother-in-law has signed me up for the 50km MTN OFM Mountain Bike Race in Bloemfontein this weekend.

Guess who has not been playing much games this week?  read more »

Windows 7 - Already cracked

Actually, we should probably not be surprised.

Windows 7, the latest incarnation of the famous (infamous?) operating system by Microsoft, has been cracked.

The system was scheduled to go on sale on 22 October 2009.

This means that pirates will have the latest version of Windows 7 Ultimate long before most consumers have bought a copy off the shelves.  read more »

Microsoft Hatred - Linus calls it a disease

Interesting read over at Ars Technica today.

Recently, Microsoft contributed code for it's Hyper-V drivers to the Linux kernel.

Yes, you read right, MS contributed code to the kernel.  read more »

Those Xbox blues...

I really want an Xbox 360. I'm getting to that point where I want it real bad.

I've been reading up about Xbox Live, how to bypass the system without having an American Credit Card (since Microsoft doesn't officially support the Xbox Live Service in SA yet), which games are available on Xbox Live Arcade and I've been scouting the area for shops with good prices on their games.  read more »
