I blogged earlier this week about the mysterious countdown clock at Good Old Games. The time has now passed (by about 30 minutes) and they have revealed their big announcement.

I was right! They have signed with one of the big publishers, but none of the one's I have guessed.

By now, most of you would have heard about GoG.com, that wonderful site called Good Old Games. I certainly blog about them quite regularly.

They have got a catalog of older games at really good prices. All of the games have been redesigned to work under Windows XP/Vista and best of all, they are DRM free!  read more »

So far it looks like my new years resolution has been to 'blog less'. I can guarantee you that this is not the case.

The year just started off a bit strangely for myself and my wife. We moved house to Brakpan... not a bad decision, but definitely a financial one. We are saving a lot of money per month which means we will be able to put more money away for the more important things in life. Things like a deposit for a house, a deposit for a car. The last few weeks have been a blur in more aspects than one. Work is hectic, my second job is hectic and my gaming life is hectic.

Well, the last part I guess is my own fault. After all, it's my choice whether or not I pick up that controller.

Only thing is, for the last few days it feels like it's not my choice. I feel compelled to pick up that controller. Especially when the controller is guitar shaped!

I am starting to notice a very worrying trend across South African retail stores.

Less and less stores are carrying Xbox 360 games on their shelves.

Over the last month, I've walked through a few stores and with a shock found out that they do not stock Xbox 360 games at all.

These include the following stores:

• Toys R Us
• Reggies
• Some other smaller vendors

I also see other stores like Incredible Connection and CNA dropping their supply of Xbox 360 games. Where once the games occupied three or four racks, they now occupy one.  read more »
