rivaanbechan.com logoThis is a slightly older site that I helped setup for a friend of mine. Rivaan Bechan is a musician, singer, songwriter and all-around general geek.

He needed a site where he can blog, upload videos of songs that he's covered and talk about life in general.

The site has also changed themes since I've helped him develop it, but that is part of the magic of Drupal.

His site (at the time), needed the following:

  • Reasonably heavy modification of the Dark Elegance Drupal theme
  • Custom content types using CCK
  • Media heavy site that allows Youtube embedding and audio embedding

Like I said, this was one of the slightly more technical sites and Rivaan was not always an easy customer. He knew exactly what he wanted, it was just technically difficult to do.

All in all, I think the site came out quite allright and ever since Rivaan has updated his theme, I believe he finally has achieved the look he was going for.

A friend of mine with diabetes needed a website where he could educate other people with diabetes and keep them updated with news and advancements in technology regarding diabetes.

His requirements weren't extensive but they weren't basic either.

Drupal 6 was of course, the tool of choice.

His site design comprised of the following elements:

  • New logo design
  • Heavy modification of a Drupal theme called Designpile
  • Custom content types using CCK

So if you have any friends or family living with diabetes, go ahead and direct them towards the site.

Drupal - An evolution

Drupal logoSo it's been a few weeks now that this redesigned blog has been up and running and I thought I would share a few things that came up while designing the site as well as things that have come up in the past few weeks that I've actively used the site.

For those weary of the 'technical' stuff, this is going to be a pretty technical post.
