Over and done with... and other random ramblings

So the surgery went smooth (I am after all typing this without falling over) and now I remember why I hate waking up from anesthesia.

It's the worst feeling ever.

One of the nurses (as I was waking up) was telling me that next time she'll "box me back"! I don't even want to know what the heck happened there!

I've now got a big gaping hole on the bottom-right where the infected tooth used to be, and some stitches on the left side of my mouth where they removed the wisdom teeth.

It's really gross when I stick my tongue into that hole but I just can't stop doing it!  read more »

A major pain in the...

...jaw?

Just a quick reminder for those not in the know.

I'm going for maxillofacial surgery tomorrow.

Which is just a big fancy word meaning I have to get teeth pulled while on a table under general anesthetics, instead of in a chair in a dentist's office.

I'll let everyone know how it went.

One year already?

I missed it (by almost a month!) but rather late than never!

Geekworld is officially one year old.

I made the first post on the 28th of April, 2007.

I started this blog hoping it would be a place where I could share, opine, vent and just plain talk about stuff that interests me.

In less than a year, I also opened it up for a select few friends who might have the same reasons I have for putting words on the 'net. So that other people might read them. Hopefully they have enjoyed it as much as I have.  read more »

It first started when someone took this picture of dear Vernon:

Vernon Koekemoer

Vernon was spotted at a local rave called H2O that is held quite frequently in Boksburg. Apparantly (and I didn't know this) Boksburg is the "clubbing capital of South Africa". You could have fooled me.  read more »

It's been a while...

Myself or my fellow bloggers haven't blogged in a while and I apologise for that... well for myself at least, the rest have to apologise for themselves!

A lot has happened so I might as well just fill everyone in on everything.

My wife and I went for a short holiday (about a week) to go visit my parents in Cape Town.  read more »

Fitness Frenzy

Haven't blogged in a while and I guess that's one of the dangers of a busy/active lifestyle.

I've been trying to get my fitness and health levels in a better state and it's been going good so far.

The squash games have been keeping my fitness levels up and I'm eating healthier as well as drinking more water. It helps.

We've even gone so far as to start a local squash league at the office and we've got eight people playing in the league already.  read more »

Do people still read?

I've just finished reading two books in the last two weeks.

I finished the third book of the Riftwar saga, Silverthorn, by Raymond E. Feist sometime last week, and then over the weekend, I finished Digital Fortress by Dan Brown.

So I finished reading two books, bringing my total to about 7 books in the last 3 months.  read more »
