About face! HP decides to stay in the PC business

HP LogoA bit more than two months ago, HP announced that they would be exiting the 'low-profit PC Market'. Since that announcement, quite a few changes have happened at HP.

For one, they've got a different CEO, Meg Whitman. Secondly, she's announced that they will not exit the low-profit PC business.

HP has decided to keep their PSG (Personal Systems Group) as part of HP and they will not sell it off the same way IBM sold their PC division to Lenovo in 2004.

Shocker: HP announces its intent to leave the PC market

HP LogoHP CEO Léo Apotheker has announced that they want to exit the low-profit market of selling PC's and notebooks and they are going to be focussing on the software.

Other devices like the standalone Palm Pre also seems to be on the chopping block. It seems this is only one of a multitude of decisions currently happening at HP.
