Invites for Google+ closed due to 'insane demand'

It seems like Google+ is outperforming all expectations that the search giant ever had. Shortly after opening the service, they had to close the invite system because of the huge demand it placed on their servers. Vic Gundotra, the head of Google's social division, was quoted as saying that Google "need to do this carefully, and in a controlled way."

So if you haven't received an invite from me... it's not my fault!
