Michael Jackson dies

I was going to blog about cycling this morning (again).

Had a good session, even though it was 2 degrees celcius outside and I got here in a reasonable time.

Took a shower, walked out, and saw the Gym's TV flash the headline:"Michael Jackson dies".

The news said that Jackson died of a heart attack in his rented home in Holmby Hills.

They could not revive him at home, after which he was taken to hospital and finally declared dead.

For a moment your brain stands still and you can't immediately process news like this.

It's almost like the first time you saw the footage of the airplanes flying into the Twin Towers.

Ask anyone today and they can tell you exactly where they were that day and what they were doing when first they saw it.

I guess with an iconic figure like Michael, you never think that someone like that really can die. I know it's a silly thought, but that's what goes through your mind the first time.

I heard someone on the radio say that they always thought of him as 'immortal'.

At the end of the day though, we are all people and we all die at some stage. Some die young, some die old.

Michael Jackson has lived a full life, even though he died at the reasonably young age of 50. He had fans who adored him from all over the world, he had multiple hit albums and he captured the hearts of many people.

But he is mortal and has passed on.

May he rest in peace.

I cried

Michael was a great dancer. I cried when i got this news that he died. He will always live in our heart.

A true musical icon

Through all his personal issues and problems his music still stands as the best pop has produced IMO. Not only his music but the way he could dance was phenomenal. I was quite sad that he was so distressed in his personal life and he seemed to be tormented by his fame and I'm sure this would have led to his prescription drug addiction.

RIP

Michael Jackson was a genius, he was the kind and will be difficult that anyone else can dethrone him. I loved how he danced and how he sang. RIP Michel Jackson.
