Life Happens...
So it's been a while since I have blogged.
On one side of the coin, I feel guilty, as my blog really is something quite personal to me. A place where I can vent, discuss, share, opine (is that even a word?) and just plain get my thoughts out of my head.
The flipside of the coin reflects something different though. Life has been hectic and I really don't feel guilty for taking some 'me time'.
The last few months have been somewhat of a blur and it has only been the last week or so that things finally started feeling normal again.
To recap, in no chronological order: Christmas, New Year, my wife starting a new job, my computer giving me hassles, myself starting gym again to get rid of the extra festive season kilos to mention but a few things.
And those who know me of course, will also know that my mother passed away on the 29th of November, 2008.
This is the first time that I mention anything online (apart from the short Facebook status update every now and then) and also the first time that I feel ready to mention it online.
It's been really tough.
Being with my in-laws over the festive season wasn't easy for me either.
Don't get me wrong, they're great people!
It was seeing them together, as a family, and a happy one at that, that really threw me. I was missing Cape Town, family and friends more than ever before.
I would like to take the time to thank everyone who has been there for me. I don't have to name names, you guys know who you are. If it wasn't for my family and friends, and especially my loving wife, I would have taken a lot longer to process everything. I think I'm finally starting to get to grips with the whole thing...
So here's to a great 2009 (late, I know) and an even better future for all!
If the gym doesn't keep me too busy, the updates should be more frequent now!

And life continues...
You have been amazing, strong and I'm SO glad that 2009 has finally started! This is gonna be a 'jol', and the gym better keep you very busy! IT guys may be geeks, but geeks can be good-looking too ;-).
To everyone else, may 2009 be an exciting year full of surprises but also stability.
Keep well,
Ronel
