Hobby-X
So my wife and I took the nephews and nieces out to Hobby-X, a local Hobby exposition that was held at the Coca-Cola Dome this past weekend. I also visited the Rage expo at the same event a few months earlier.
It wasn't a bad expo. We saw some awesome Meccano structures and vehicles. Someone was even so ambitious as to build a 3-headed dragon from Meccano! It was brilliant.
There was a big model train set on display, covering about 25 meters of track. The scenery was excellent on the display.
Now for the gripe part... what I did NOT like about the expo. Every third stall/booth was either about beads or paper. Quite literally.
I was MOST disappointed to find that not ONE miniature war-gaming club/shop had a display on the floor. I was really looking forward to large battlefields with big armies on display.
I guess it's not a good enough hobby...
Unfortunately, no cameras were allowed at the premises... and I ashamedly admit I only thought about using my cell phone's camera after the event. Which of course, doesn't help any of you much.
All in all, a great weekend gone past. Looking forward? A much-deserved holiday!
For those of you who don't know, I will be dropping by in the Western Cape to go visit my place of birth for a week or so.
Hope to see all my friends there!
