Submitted by Tiny on July 17, 2010 - 09:49.Over the past two or three weeks, I have been helping one of my buddies trying to get his blog up and running.
It was quite an ambitious project that he wanted to do. He is an artist who creates his own music, covers famous songs, etc. read more »
The FIFA 2010 World Cup
Submitted by Tiny on July 12, 2010 - 11:54.
South Africa has hosted a successful FIFA Football World Cup. Spain have been declared the winners, lifting the trophy for the first time, after competing in their first World Cup final as well.
This was certainly a spectacular showcase presented by our beautiful country.
It was a World Cup of winners, a World Cup of losers, a World Cup of controversy and a World cup of new records.
Most of all, it was a World Cup showcasing the beautiful game. read more »
FIFA should consider TV referees
Submitted by Tiny on June 30, 2010 - 09:52.Over the course of the World Cup, there have been some controversial calls made by referees.
Granted, most of the time these referees have got a very difficult job ahead of them and 9 times out of 10, they excel at their job. It's easy to see why they are the best.
When they do make incorrect calls though, the world sees it.
Lets take a look at a few recent examples. read more »
E3 and other juicy gaming news
Submitted by Tiny on June 23, 2010 - 10:35.Being busy is not fun.
Being alone at home is not fun.
Both of these premises were mine to enjoy (hate?) the past week.
But instead of my usual moan about how busy things are and about how little I'm blogging, let me jump straight into it.
Yes, E3, the Electronic Entertainment Expo took place last week in all it's gaming glory.
Yes, I know it was last week... like I said, I've been busy. read more »
Xbox 360 Slim rumours?
Submitted by Tiny on May 12, 2010 - 23:35.So my Xbox 360 has died... for the third time in the last two weeks.
Everytime, I've duly opened it up, tweaked with the screws that apply the Red Ring of Death (RROD) fix and get it up and running again... for about two days.
Lather, rinse, repeat.
So I'm at the point where I might open it once or twice more but I'm just about reaching that point where my Xbox will be defenestrated. read more »
The Broadband Revolution - Has it finally arrived?
Submitted by Tiny on March 29, 2010 - 13:55.Last week was an exciting week for you if you were South African and you are reasonably internet savvy.
It started with MWEB, one of the largest Internet Service Providers (ISP) in South Africa announcing their uncapped ADSL data package. For only R219 per month.
Of course there are the Telkom ADSL line rental fees, but once you've included everything, you can have uncapped ADSL Internet, at home, for less than the monthly subscribtion of a DStv package. read more »
Good vs. Evil
Submitted by Tiny on March 25, 2010 - 13:23.I've always been fascinated by games that give you choice. Games that give you more than one path to finish it or games that give you multiple storylines.
First off, there is the obvious development challenge. Games like Fallout 3 have you roaming the wasteland, either helping people or abusing their situation to your benefit. read more »
Gamer dads
Submitted by Tiny on February 26, 2010 - 13:56.So I haven't blogged in a while.
What else is new?
Things have been hectic (again) for the last few weeks with regards to both my work and personal life.
I went for a holiday in Cape Town beginning February. We held a funeral for one of my wife's aunts last week. Also, I improved my cycling record on my 35km cycle to the office.
Those were the memorable things that have happened during the past few weeks. It was all the hectic stuff in between that made blogging nearly impossible.
Back on topic though. read more »
